Summary
Theatre one – where major cases are done. Theatre two – where major septic cases are done. Theatre three – where minor cases are done starting with clean cases and into septic operations.
Recovery room – where patients recover from anaesthesia before going back to the ward. Sluice room – where dirty linen is sluiced before it’s taken to laundry. Changing room – where personnel changes before commencing duty. Scrub room – where everyone scrubs before operations are done.

The staff consists of 1 SIC, 2 Operating Theatre Nurses, 1 Anaesthetist, 2 Midwives, 1 RGN, 1
PCN, 3 Nurse Aides.
Operating theatre nurse is the Infection Control focal person for the hospital
