Summary
The eye ward has a waiting room for patients, where we do visual acuity testing before consultations. There is also an Examination room for consultations and examinations of patients. The optics room is for lense cutting and refraction. Finally there are some wards – female and male wards with a capacity to admit 30 patients.
About the department
The department is situated in the eastern direction of the hospital, opposite to the paediatric ward. It is the only eye unit in the district
Staff
The eye unit has the capacity to admit patients but currently it is not. The ward is run by 1 opthalmic nurse and 1 nurse aide.
For who
It opens from 8am to 4pm during weekdays attending to patients, referred from out patients department, but is open for emergency services at any time of the day.
