Driefontein Sanatorium is a specialised hospital in the control and treatment of tuberculosis (TB) and multi-drugresistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) for patients with confirmed TB who need observation for a short, or even longer, period.
About the department
Driefontein Sanatorium is a separate hospital and no part of Muvonde Mission Hospital, but we work closely together. At Muvonde Hospital the first screening will be done and patients will be transferred when having sputum positive tuberculosis or multiresistant TB.
Staff
Driefontein Sanatorium has specially trained nurses and nurse aids, a separate laboratory and pharmacy and a few options for extra investigations.

Patients with confirmed sputum positive tuberculosis. Patients with confirmed multi drug resistant tuberculosis. Patients referred by other hospitals because of confirmed tuberculosis.
